Cassian, Constantine, Antoninus, and other Syrian bishops at Alexandria

Exiled Syrian bishops under the Antiochene see|Alexandria, Egypt
Cassian, Constantine, Antoninus, and other bishops from Syria were followers of the Antiochene see who had taken refuge in Alexandria during Severus of Antioch's exile. Severus addresses them collectively in Select Letters I.53, praising their handling of the cases of Paul of Olba and Elpidius and urging a canonical but merciful policy toward deposed bishops and repentant Christians.
