The clergy of the metropolis of Apamea were addressed collectively by Severus of Antioch after the death of their bishop Isaac. Severus urges them to choose episcopal candidates by canonical judgment rather than worldly pressure and orders the restoration of the church steward who had been displaced while Isaac was dying.
