Conon, described by Brooks as a brigand-chaser, was an imperial official addressed by Severus of Antioch during Severus' episcopate. In Select Letters I.45, Severus urges Conon to support church discipline after a woman improperly claimed the rank of deaconess and was stripped of that supposed office.
