John scholastic of Bostra
Scholastic and correspondent of Severus of Antioch|Bostra, Arabia
John was a scholastic associated with Bostra who sent Severus difficult canonical questions. In Brooks letter VIII.4, Severus answers him on the force of anathema and on a self-mutilated monk who had later been ordained, distinguishing repentance and salvation from eligibility for clerical office.
