Avitus, bishop, to Bishop Stephanus.

After the holy festival — which we passed through, though anxious and fearful, under your intercession and God's protection — I offer my duty of humble service and the devotion of attentive care. Whatever hardship we have deserved that remains with us, we long to ease by the knowledge of your prosperity, which may God always increase.
