Please allow this messenger, who is on his way to Rome with some letters of mine dealing with Church affairs, a safe conduct through your territory, so that he may pray at the shrines and bring back replies to me. Help him when he is in need as you have helped my previous messengers., for so they have told me on their return.
Pray comply with this request, that your reward with God may be greatly increased.
