HormisdasGratus, vir spectabilis|hormisdas
From: Pope Hormisdas, Rome
To: Gratus, vir spectabilis
Date: ~519 AD
Context: Hormisdas gently scolds Gratus for not writing and asks to be kept informed.

Hormisdas to Gratus, vir spectabilis. Your amplitude's silence has saddened us, because amid whatever occupations you may have, you should not have been forgetful of us. And so, lest we seem to commit the same fault we reproach in you, we have taken up the effort of this present letter, through which we greet your nobility with honor and ask that you not cease to inform us of the good news of your well-being — for reports of your health are welcome to us at any time.
