Euprepia
sister and correspondent of Ennodius of Pavia|Pavia
Euprepia was the sister of Magnus Felix Ennodius (c. 473/474-521 AD), the Gallo-Roman aristocrat who served as a deacon at Milan and later as bishop of Pavia (Ticinum) under Ostrogothic rule in Italy. She is known almost entirely from the letters Ennodius addressed to her in his Epistulae, which concern family affairs and, notably, the upbringing and prospects of her son Lupicinus, whom Ennodius took an active interest in. Beyond her appearance in this correspondence she is little independently attested, but the letters reveal a woman embedded in the literate provincial aristocracy of early sixth-century northern Italy and a trusted confidante of her brother.
