You have comforted us well in word and deed, admirable man, and you have visited me while I was sitting in darkness and in the shadow of repentance. May the Lord repay you on my behalf, as richly as the giver himself is rich. May I see you in the age to come set over five cities and over ten, and may we too be found there, taught and nourished by you. Bend down lovingly, lord, to visit the children of your children. Then you will know whether we, as strangers to knowledge and outsiders to the divine cities, ever dare anything unworthy of your wisdom.
