Letter 42: One of my relatives is suffering an injustice.
To Cledonius.
One of my relatives is suffering an injustice. You are my friend, and it has fallen to you to hold the court. You are therefore in a position to satisfy yourself, me, and the law at the same time.
Let Asphalius recover his wine jars in peace, receiving a court ruling that confirms his father's will. Do not let the prosecution delay the hearing. When should we do justice more readily than at the very moment we are lifting our hands to God?
