I, sparing you and being wary lest by my writing I should become a burden to you, my lady, did not write to you the first time; but you yourself, I do not know how, on seeing the letter-carrier, filled his right hand with silver, sending it for the relief of my lowliness. And why have you made a new beginning [innovated] upon your blessed house? And why have I become a means to your overflowing generosity? Yet may He who weighs and measures all things repay you with a recompense and, in return for your hospitality, with His kingdom, hearkening to your confidence and to the prayer set before Him, lightening every affliction and anxiety of yours, and granting you a calm and peaceful manner of life. Remember us also in your orthodox and pure worship; for I learn that you hold fast to piety, and may you indeed be strengthened yet more.
