Well done, well done, Hyperechios my child! Bear, bear the harsh season, the exile, the ill-treatment. As for why the visitation [the relief, or the bishop's coming] is slow, the brethren will instruct you; but I, for my part, have sent you yet another letter as well, in which I granted you pardon, and now God will pardon you both that and everything. Lay aside your grief. Every father both disciplines and again exhorts, and the one who is undisciplined and uncorrected is useless. May you, then, become useful, approved, even as you have also suffered for Christ's sake. Watch yourself, child, how you sit, how you live; flee the occasions of falls, and the manners, and the places, that you may be saved as a son of light. Endure still. Pray concerning me the sinner. He who is with me greets you. The Lord be with you.
