Insofar as God has so dispensed [oikonomia: divine dispensation] that things should come to pass thus, you have committed no sin, my child, in withdrawing from the midst, even though it is not a work of perfection. Only, be content together with the brother with whom you are - whom also I greet - both of you preserving yourselves and standing as mediators toward one another through the fear of God, and indeed concealing yourselves here and there from the heretical beasts, in the mountains, in the caves, and completing the course of blessedness, praying also for me the sinner that I may be saved. He who is with me sends his greetings.
